Saurashtra, the land of saints where the family deities not only emerge but with no discrimination of caste, creed, religion, rich, poor, donors and politicians, each and every person worship them with utmost faith. On his every trip to Saurashtra, the famous donor Shri Deepchand bhai Gardi first visits Pu. Mandavraijee situated near Chotila.
We do not have any authorized information of our Pu. Pragabapa, but below the heading of the Family Deity Paya Parmeshwari Surdhan Pragata bapa, the writings follows - “Left the body on Saturday at 1:10 noon, Chaitrasud 11th of S Y 1667.” First Foundation was laid at 2:45 noon by all the brothers of the family on Saturday Bhadarvasud 13th SY 1779. Shri Gulab bhai Narbheshankar Hemchand of Naampar, suggested the name of the deity in trance, in the presence of 14 brothers of the family.
(This writing was framed on glass during the reign of Shri Bavchand bhainDevkaran of Savarkundla, informed to us by his grandson Shri Harshad bhai.)
According to the information from the forefathers, the couple Pu. Pragabapa was assassinated by dacoits with the intension of robbery on the border of Jamka – Sanadiya. Years ago in the place of Mandir, a small Deri was situated in the fields of the border of the route to Jamka – Sanadiya.
In 1979 Damani - Dhedhi brothers gathered and thought about the redevelopment of Pu. Pragabapa Mandir and also got the trust registered, purchased 7 vigha land in Jamka and prepared the plan, thereafter collected funds to construct a beautiful temple with Pujari quarter, office, store room, meeting hall, a garden and the compound wall.
On the completion of the temple costruction a huge three day Havan conference was held from 30-04-1981 to 02-05-1981, followed by the temple consecration. After which 16 One-day Havan conferences were held in the presence of Pu. Pragabapa, the 17th Havan conference was held on 18-11-2012.
Though Pu. Pragabapa’s Mandir is completely redeveloped, the two idols are placed at the same place where they were placed initially.
Funds have been poured continuously meeting the needs for the Mandir redevelopment work. We have never faced any financial crisis till date. Built with marble this glorious Mandir has a huge verandah, attractive garden and every day morning and evening Arati-Pooja is performed by the Pujari of the Mandir.
Family members of Damani – Dhedhi, friends, devotees, followers and the dwellers of Jamaliya – Sanadiya are blessed & graced by our Pu.Pragabapa. Our families are continously blessed with peace, happiness, wealth and prosperity. Our faith in Pu.Pragabapa and with his esteemed blessings each and every work and occasions are completed without any obstructions or difference of opinions.
We wish Damani - Dhedhi families become wealthier, excel in human and social services and always have Pu. Pragabapa’s divine grace on them.
We bow our heads with great honor at Pu. Pragabapa’s feet.
‘A PROUD HISTORY OF Pu. MATAJI JAMKA’
‘May Pu. Mataji shower her infinite grace on Damani - Dhedhi families’
Though complete information is not available about Pu. Mataji, but, when Pu. Pragabapa was at Jamka, Pu. Mataji was staying at Khimchand Odhavji Damani’s house at Gopalgram near Chalala. A widow of the town Pu. Jayaben used to perform regular Pooja. At times Pu. Pragabapa used to come in Jayaben’s physical body. Most of our families living in the village had migrated to Mumbai city and the house was locked so performing pooja was not possible. With Pu. Pragabapa’s permission Pu. Mataji’s idol was moved and installed besides Pu. Bapa’s Mandir on 03-11-1996 with proper religious ceremony. Now Pooja - Aarti is regularly performed.
When Pu. Mataji was residing at Gopalgram, Bipinbhai, son of Khimchandbhai and his mother Jayaben regularly worshiped her. They took utmost care and served all the devotees who came for the divine blessings and worship of Pu. Mataji. We are really very thankful to this family & pranam to them.
May Pu. Mataji shower her infinite grace and blessings on Damani - Dhedhi families.
50 - 55 YEARS AGO
Around 50-55 years ago having visited Bagasara on a wedding occasion, Vijubhai happened to visit Pu. Pragabapa Mandir for his darshan for the first time.
Today there is a beautiful Mandir in place of Deri as shown in the image. Next to it is the border of Jamka. In the mandir compound is a beautiful garden and greenery.
Shri Vajubhai, his father Shri Shantilal Bhanji Damani, his brothers Shri Mannubhai, Shri Kishorebhai, Shri Shashibhai and the pioneer of Jain Society Bagasara Shri Kannubhai Ghataliya are in the image.
Shri Chunilal Damani
“Our dearest vadil Pujya Shri Chunilal Damani was the pioneer in creating Damani family bapa’s Deri in Jamka .
He alongwith his gentle heart got all the Damani family members across the globe together to give momentum to the creation of our Deri and pujya sacred Devasthan which could be visited by many generations and continue the sacred tradition and worship towards our devasthan.
Although he is no longer with us yet his good deeds, teaching, kind heart and initiative taken for creating this devasthan will inspire all of us and will motivate future generations to worship our sacred Deri and continue the traditions of Damani - Dhedhi family.
We will always remember this Golden Jewel of our family for his outstanding contribution and initiative for the above good cause.”
